What is Chessware?

Chessware is a chess coach for your computer. It helps you study and improve: go back over the games you've played, understand where they turned, and train the parts of your game you want to get better at.

This page explains what Chessware does, the two versions, who it's for and how to get it.

What Chessware helps you do

Chessware is built around three things:

• Reviewing your games. Go back through games you've played and look at the moments that mattered.
• Understanding your mistakes. Get explanations of what went wrong in a position and why, so the lesson sticks.
• Training. Practice the areas you want to improve, at your own pace.

The app

Chessware is the desktop app for Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). You download it from your dashboard and sign in with your license key. Your Chessware account is the same one you sign in to with Discord.

Who it's for

Chessware is for players who want to get better and like learning from their own games. That includes:

• players who want a structured way to review what they've played;
• players who keep making the same kind of mistake and want to understand why; and
• players returning to chess who want a place to rebuild their skills.

When you sign up, you'll be asked a couple of quick questions about your level and how you plan to use Chessware.

Note: Chessware is for training and analysis. Don't use it to get help during live games on any platform or in any event that forbids outside assistance. You're responsible for following each platform's rules. Read the full Acceptable Use & Fair Play policy.

How to get Chessware

1. Sign in at https://chessware.net with your Discord account.
2. Pick a plan. Payment is handled securely by Stripe.
3. Open your dashboard and download Chessware from the Downloads tab.
4. Open Chessware and log in with the license key shown on the Licenses tab.
